The NYCFE is pleased to welcome Stavros Zervoudakis, Assistant Professor at New York University, as he presents:

Using EDA and AI Techniques for Fraud Detection

Deploying and scaling Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to combat fraud, comply with regulatory requirements and reduce risk is increasingly vital for financial institutions. In this webinar, Stavros will demonstrate AI techniques, along with Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and Machine Learning (ML). EDA offers an approach to discovering patterns and gaining insights while excluding and eliminating unacceptable biases. ML provides powerful techniques to swiftly respond to ever changing tactics of fraudsters. Developing, training and operating the ML models properly will be an added focus.

Attendees will develop an understanding of:

  • AI, its practical uses in the financial industry, and key issues in the regulatory agency approval process;
  • Using open-source (free) tools to perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), gain insights and build visualizations;
  • Dealing with the special characteristics of financial transaction datasets, while completing the process of building machine learning models that can prove to be important tools in predicting the probability of fraudulent cases at scale.

Attendees will be entitled to 2 CPE credits!
