The NYCFE is pleased to welcome Brad Morgan, Senior Business Intelligence Lead at Pindrop as he presents:

How COVID Changed Fraudster Tactics

COVID took a toll on both Financial Institutions and Fraudsters. Financial Institutions had to deal with a new reality in how contact centers were staffed, how fraud analysts conducted reviews, and how they accommodated customer requests for money movement. Fraudsters figured out that they didn’t have a fast pass to get through long hold times at banks and insurance companies. Both had to adapt how they conducted themselves. For fraudsters, that meant changing techniques and for financial institutions, that meant quickly adapting to new threats.

In this presentation, you will learn the following:

  • How COVID changed things in the immediate aftermath of the “lockdowns”
  • How Financial Institutions and Insurance Companies had to change their business almost overnight.
  • How fraudsters changed their tactics and how they are continuing to get more creative with their attacks and the role pandemic unemployment assistance played in their strategy
  • What can be done to mitigate these new attacks.

Attendees will be entitled to 2 CPE credits!
